Reaching Communities

Funding Available: £10,000-£500,000
Overview: The Reaching Communities programme has two strands, funding projects that help people and communities most in need.
- Reaching Communities revenue and small capital - funding for revenue projects and/or smaller capital projects
- Reaching Communities buildings - funding for large capital projects
Requirements: Projects can be new or existing, or be the core work of an organisation but the project must:
- Respond to need
- Involve the people
- Achieve one or more of the following four outcomes:
- People having better chances in life, with better access to training and development to improve their life skills
- Stronger communities, with more active citizens working together to tackle their problems
- Improved rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to access and enjoy
- Healthier and more active people and communities

Overview: Grant for charitable organisations undertaking education, social welfare, arts or medical projects in the UK. Charitable organisations based in the UK are eligible to apply for costs associated with eligible projects.
Requirements: Grants are offered to fund a wide range of projects, including:

Balcombe Charity Trust Grant

Overview: Grant for charitable organisations in the UK undertaking projects for education, the environment, health and welfare. The application process is ongoing and interested applicants may apply at any time. Applications can cover the costs associated with eligible projects.
Requirements: The scheme is intended to support organisations undertaking projects in the following areas:
- Education
- Environment
- Health
- Welfare
Eligible organisations must be a UK registered charity, or a charitable organisation which is exempt from registration.

Barbara Ward Children's Foundation
Area Covered: UK
Funding Available: £ eligible costs
Overview: Grant for charitable organisations undertaking projects for severely disadvantaged children and young people anywhere in the world. Charitable organisations may apply for costs associated with eligible activities and projects.
Requirements: In recent years, the Foundation has provided grants to charitable organisations working on youth projects in the following areas:

Universal Infant Free School Meals Funding
Area Covered: England
Funding Available: £150m in 2014
Overview: The funding will be allocated to local authorities for distribution to maintained schools. Funding is allocated based on the number of infant pupils they have. Academies funding will be delivered through the Academies Maintenance Fund.
