Formed in 1988, PKL has successfully completed over 10,000 temporary kitchen hires throughout the UK and around the world. With a purpose built head office and warehouse facility, and a management and senior operations team that has a collective experience of well over 100 years working for the company, PKL offers an unrivalled level of products and service within the industry. This includes 900 purpose built Portable Kitchen units and over 10,000 items of catering equipment available to hire. In addition to temporary kitchen solutions, PKL also supplies permanent modular kitchen buildings, which are designed and constructed off site.

PKL has extensive experience of working with the education sector, having won the Educatering Innovation Award in 2011 for its work with Northamptonshire County Council on school KitchenPods - permanent modular kitchen facilities.  PKL offers a number of both temporary and permanent kitchen solutions for schools, including KitchenPods, Food Cubes, Food Technology Kitchens, catering equipment contract hire via KitchenFM for Schools, and temporary kitchen and dining facilities for use during refurbishments or emergencies.

PKL has been Government Procurement Service accredited since 1992, meaning that the company is pre-tendered to supply public sector organisations, who can procure products from PKL and benefit from the cost and process savings leveraged by using the Government Procurement Service.

The company also holds ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 accreditation, and in 2009 was awarded a Queen's Award for Enterprise in the International Trade Category.
